At Entwistle Group we love new technologies and recently we have been experimenting with neon inks (often called fluorescent inks) and the results are incredible. Its not just the effect that they have in the dark but also in daylight where they add huge punch to print. We are so impressed that we are now offering a neon ink printing service to all our customers.

What are neon inks?

Neon inks contain pigments that have the ability to absorb Ultraviolet energy and virtually immediately re-emit this energy within the visible spectrum. The human eye interprets the print as glowing and it appears exceptionally bright in daylight.

How does it look?

When the print is exposed to a strong light source the luminance of its colour increases and it glows more brightly giving unbelievably strong and vibrant colours. When print is placed in dark environments with UV background illumination, the ink really does glow in the way that wrist watch faces or fairground bracelets do.

HP Indigo ElectroInk

We load HP Indigo ElectroInk into our HP 7900 Indigo press. This is a state of the art machine which prints up to A3 size at tremendous speed whilst maintaining remarkable quality. HP’s Electroink offers the widest colour gamut in digital production meaning we can make those difficult to achieve colours consistently every time. Add to this the ability to use Pantone spot colour along with White and Clear ink and we can deliver innovative “stand out” print to enhance any design.

How to get the best results printing with neon ink

Paper is an important component to ensuring neon inks give the highest quality print. Coated papers work the best as they have a very flat and smooth finish so the inks sit on top of the paper and there is no absorption. The ultra violet pigments can fully reflect the light back out (fluoresce) creating a very vivid and bright colour.

We have amassed huge experience

In early 2018 we installed neon Pink ink into our presses and instantly got amazing results. Complimentary artwork using the neon Pink along with White unlocked previously unachievable results. Jump to 2019 and the neon Pink has been in such demand HP have now launched a Neon Yellow, Orange and Green to expand the range.

Our largest print facility is in Manchester from where we offer a nationwide service with much of our work going to London.
