The HP Deignjet T950 is a versatile 36” printer, capable of producing a range of print whilst excelling at CAD drawings. Although most at home in a medium sized architectural, engineering or construction office producing A0 and A1 prints, it can also produce A3 and A4 prints for a range of purposes from separate paper feeders with automatic media selection.

Seamless paper switching

Having the capability of printing A0 to A4 sizes, the machine has a breadth of abilities which are rare at this price point. With a front loading paper tray for A3 sheets, the HP T950 can  quickly change paper sizes. Apart from the obvious productivity advantages of changing paper sizes seamlessly, small format A3 and A4 desktop printers can be dispensed with, freeing up vital space. 

The HP T950 has outstanding print quality

Having the ability to print bold blacks with fine line quality and small letter precision, the T950 excels as a high quality CAD printer. It can also produce POS/POP posters, brochures and promotional signage but not as inexpensively as dedicated graphics printers as it uses higher amounts of ink. 

Used with HP Flex Tech inks, print is resistant to smudges allowing for easy handling of the printed documents. Even the use of highlighter pens for marking up purposes, doesn’t result in bleed and the blurring of text, lines and images. Being light fast inks, the print is resistant to fading and maintains colour accuracy.

Advanced security designed from the ground up

The HP DesignJet T950 has been designed with security in mind which is why many advanced features have been built in at the concept stage. HP’s Wolf Pro Security has been integrated to provide maximum protection from hacking and viral attacks. It provides security at every level, protecting the hardware, software and firmware. Malicious code is prevented in real time by write protecting the memory, whilst Secure Boot validates the firmware on startup and if any threats are detected, the printer reboots to a secure recovery state. Even cartridges have built in tamper resistant chips and firmware. 

Multiple networking solutions

Although many users will opt to hardwire the printer to a network, there will be some office environments where this is impossible. Instead the printer can connect to wireless networks or even receive files via Wifi Direct.

Reduced environmental Impact

HP have set out to reduce the DesignJet T950’s environmental impact in relation to its carbon impact in use, as well as during its manufacturing. In operation the machine saves electricity by automatic on/off power scheduling. Ink wastage is minimised by running efficient maintenance cycles and sustainability is provided for through the HP Forest First scheme, whereby HP contributes to forest preservation with every page that is printed. 

At least 36% of printer is made from recycled plastics. HP has made significant progress in reducing single-use plastics for printer hardware. 

In 2019 HP set a goal to eliminate 75% of single-use plastic packaging by 2025, compared with 2018. In 2022, HP achieved a 55% reduction from 2018 levels.  Contributing to this reduction, is the substitution of polystyrene for shaped cardboard in the printer’s packaging.
