The HP Deignjet T850 is the ideal 36” for any small to medium office that has a requirement to print predominantly CAD drawings. Although it prints from A4 all the way through to A0, it has a small footprint and is ideal for the AE&C sector.
Few printers at this price point have the capability of printing A0, A1, A2 as well as a A3 and A4. With a top loading paper try for A4 sheets, the printer can seamlessly switch between paper sizes. Apart from the obvious productivity advantages of changing paper sizes quickly, any office with a HP T850 no longer needs a small format desktop printer for A3 or A4 prints.
The HP T850’s ability to produce bold blacks with fine line quality and small letter precision make it a compelling high quality Cad printer for any AE&C office. When its not producing CAD prints, it also has the capability to produce POS/POP posters, brochures and promotional signage although not as cost effectively as alternative printers as it would use higher quantities of ink compared to a dedicated graphics printer.
Used with HP Flex Tech inks, print is resistant to smudges allowing for easy handling of the printed documents. Even the use of highlighter pens for marking up purposes, doesn’t result in bleed and the blurring of text, lines and images. Being light fast inks, the print is resistant to fading and maintains colour accuracy.
The HP DesignJet T850 is supplied with HP’s Wolf Pro Security. This is HP’s advanced propriety security solution which has been designed ground up to provide maximum protection from hacking and viral attacks. It provides security at every level, protecting the hardware, software and firmware. Malicious code is prevented in real time by write protecting the memory, whilst Secure Boot validates the firmware on startup and if any threats are detected, the printer reboots to a secure recovery state. Even cartridges have built in tamper resistant chips and firmware.
The printer does not require a network to go online. It can connect using built in wifi and also has Wifi Direct connectivity.
The DesignJet T850 makes a strong environmental case from both its manufacturing process and whole of life carbon foot print. At least 42% of printer is made from recycled plastics. HP has made significant progress in reducing single-use plastics for printer hardware.
In operation the machine saves electricity by automatic on/off power scheduling. Ink wastage is minimised by running efficient maintenance cycles and sustainability is provided for through the HP Forest First scheme, whereby HP contributes to forest preservation with every page that is printed.
In 2019 HP set a goal to eliminate 75% of single-use plastic packaging by 2025, compared with 2018. In 2022, HP achieved a 55% reduction from 2018 levels. Contributing to this reduction, is the substitution of polystyrene for shaped cardboard in the printer’s packaging.
