The HP latex 115 print and cut system maximises the performance of the HP Latex 115 54” printer by allowing it to print and cut at the same time when working in conjunction with a Summa FX cut system.

What advantages does Print and Cut deliver? 

Solvent printers require time for the printed output to degas, with latex machines prints emerge dry from the printers. This allows for immediate handling and therefore cutting can take place straight away. Productivity is 50% higher than comparable Solvent “All in One” print or cut systems.

How do the printer and cutter work together?

The HP latex 115 printer assigns a unique barcode to each print that requires cutting. The print can then be introduced into the Summa FX Series cutter and the cut job initiated from the cutters front panel without the need to interact with the RIP. The barcode is read and the correct cut contours are automatically fetched from the RIP and the cuts made.

Performance

HP’s 115 latex printer offers identical print performance to the 315 printer, the only difference are the size of the ink tanks which are 400ml verses to 775ml. Compared to the 315 print and cut system which uses a D Series Summa cutter, the 115's cutter offers slightly less flexibility as it is limited to cutting all standard sized media whereas the D Series can cut non standard sizes.

Is the 115 print and cut system reliable?

HP and Summa have put considerable effort into harmonising the system so that the Latex 115 works seamlessly with Summa’s D series cutter, so much so that you can print and cut in just 5 simple steps. 

Only a small space is required for the print and cut solution

When the 115 printer and Summa cutter are placed back to back they have a remarkably small footprint. By comparison to a Roland all in one device which takes up 8.0m2, the HP Latex and Summa cutter’s footprint is 8.7m2 – just 0.7m2 more or equivalent to 3 waste paper baskets together. As the printer, RIP and cutter are all connected via your Local Area Network, the devices need not be in the same location, further adding to the systems flexibility.
