What are the differences between the 115 and 315 HP latex printers?

Price and running costs are the only differentiators. The hardware is identical for both printers resulting in the same professional output. The 115 is significantly cheaper to buy with an RRP of £8,400 + VAT verses £9,900 + VAT. Running costs are up to 30% higher for the 115 as the ink cartridges are only 400ml compared to 775ml sized inks found in the more expensive machine and cost more to replace on a relative basis.

Delivering on the promise of latex

Print quality is exceptional due to a six colour cartridge system deployed through 1200 dpi print heads. Other technical enhancements combine to deliver further quality gains. The 115 uses HP’s Latex Optimizer which interacts with HP Latex inks to quickly immobilize pigments on the surface of the print. HP’s Optical Media Advance Sensor (OMAS) provides additional improvements by accurately managing the media as it advances between print swaths. 

With outdoor signage lasting up to 3 years on un-laminated media and if laminated 5 years, durability is certainly impressive. When using HP latex inks the scratch resistance of PVC banners after printing is comparable to hard solvent inks.

Highly Productive

The HP 115 Latex delivers exceptional productivity in part because of its print speed but also through its limited maintenance/downtime requirements. Although the print speed alone is a rapid 12m² per hour for indoor print the amount of down time is reduced by automatic drop detection and nozzle replacement enabling the machine to work longer over a given period of time. Finishing work can start immediately as prints are 100% dry when they exit the printer. 

As no hazardous odours are produced no special ventilation is required.

How to make the most of your HP 115 Latex Printer

All printers need a RIP to allow them to function. Although the HP 115 Latex printer does come with an HP Edition flexi RIP, to maximise the performance of your latex printer you might consider upgrading to a more advanced RIP offering greater functionality.

• It allows you to tile, rotate, scale and crop the image which saves paper, time and money
