The HP Latex 315 54" printer is an introductory latex printer that performs like a professional. It produces stunning quality prints on a wide range of media. From banners to wall paper its breadth of abilities opens up opportunities to a huge market.

With a six colour cartridge system deployed through 1200 dpi print heads, print quality is impressive. Other technical specifications combine to deliver further quality improvements. It uses HP’s Latex Optimizer which interacts with HP Latex inks to quickly immobilize pigments on the surface of the print. HP’s Optical Media Advance Sensor (OMAS) provides additional improvements by accurately managing the media as it advances between print swaths. 

Durability is also impressive. Outdoor signage can last up to 3 years on un-laminated media and if laminated 5 years. When using HP latex inks the scratch resistance of PVC banners after printing is comparable to hard solvent inks.

The HP 315 Latex’s speed of print and low maintenance work in unison to increase productivity. Although the print speed alone is a rapid 12m² per hour for indoor print the amount of down time is reduced by automatic drop detection and nozzle replacement enabling the machine to work longer over a given period of time. Finishing work can start immediately as prints are 100% dry when they exit the printer. 

As no hazardous odours are produced no special ventilation is required.

How to make the most of your HP 315 Latex Printer

All printers need a RIP to allow them to function. Although the HP 315 Latex printer does come with an HP Edition flexi RIP, to maximise the performance of your latex printer you might consider upgrading to a more advanced RIP offering greater functionality.

A RIP will offer the following enhancements:

• It calibrates and profiles the printer on a specific media giving higher colour accuracy
• It allows you to tile, rotate, scale and crop the image which saves paper, time and money
• Allows you to manually or automatically place a number of files to be printed – saving time
• Matches pantone and spot colours so if a customer wants repeats prints even a few months later the images are identical and there are no colour differences.
